The Cretan rockrose (Cistus creticus, Cistus incanus), also known as the gray-haired rockrose, belongs to the rockrose family. The plant is a natural component of wild Mediterranean maquis landscapes. The shrubs are evergreen with delicate, tissue-paper-like pink-red flowers. The herb has a spicy, floral scent that is slightly sweet and tart, with a hint of resin. NaturKraftWerke Cistus is carefully harvested by hand in the summer and then gently dried in the shade. Primarily the upper parts of the branches are used.
