Method. Before the cuff is inflated, the device determines a cuff pressure equivalent for the air pressure. The device decides on the inflation pressure based on the pressure fluctuations and then relieves the pressure in the cuff. During pressure relief, the device detects the amplitude and flanks of the pressure fluctuations and uses them to determine the systolic blood pressure, the diastolic blood pressure and the pulse.
