Folic acid/Folate

The need for folic acid in particular is massively increased during pregnancy. Providing the mother with it before pregnancy begins can be crucial for the baby's development. It is recommended to take 0.6 mg of folic acid daily at least 4 weeks before the planned pregnancy and until after birth. Folate is needed for the development of the neural tube of the unborn child. The 0.6 mg plant folate (folic acid) contained in Baby's Best is obtained from specially cultivated barley grass shoots.

Tocotrienols

BabysBest Formula contains tocotrienols. These are compounds of vitamin E. They protect cells from oxidative stress.

Q10

Omega-3 fatty acids (vegan)

Omega-3 fatty acids such as DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) are vital and essential fatty acids. They cannot be produced by the human body itself and must therefore be supplied largely through food. DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision. These positive effects occur with a daily intake of 250 mg. The unborn child is also supplied with fatty acid through the placenta and stores DHA mainly during the last trimester of pregnancy. The infant is supplied with the fatty acid via breast milk. It stores the most DHA during the first weeks of life. Omega-3 fatty acids are found in algae, plants or fish. The omega-3 fatty acids contained in Baby's Best are obtained from specially cultivated microalgae. Omega-3 fatty acids from microalgae can oxidize less than fatty acids obtained from fish oil. Oxidation can regularly produce metabolic products that are harmful to cells.

Vitamin D

An adequate supply of vitamin D helps maintain normal bones. Several studies show that most pregnant women do not consume enough vitamin D. According to the Austrian Nutrition Report 2008, among others, the intake of vitamin D in pregnant women ranges from 2.1 micrograms (under 25 years) to 3.3 micrograms (over 35 years), very significantly below the recommendations of 15 micrograms (800 IU).
