How to take care of your body after a piercing
The most important points in brief
- In contrast to a tattoo, the piercing is a body ornament that can be easily removed again - no matter where on the body.
- Nevertheless, it is important to take good care of the part of the body where you are getting pierced.
- Failure to do this can lead to bacterial infections and the wounds will not heal well.
- Whether on the tongue or on the skin: Special products protect the pierced areas and actively contribute to rapid healing.
Are you thinking about getting pierced? Then this is probably not an ad hoc decision, but has been well thought out for some time. In any case, a piercing can be removed much, much easier than, for example, a tattoo. But that doesn't mean that you shouldn't care for the part of the body where the new piercing is located.
What happens with the piercing?
The process is not that complex, in principle when piercing a - mostly metallic - straight or curved pin, sometimes in a ring shape, is driven through the skin or the underlying tissue. In some cases, for example with the ring, this already represents the jewelry, but often a piece of jewelry is still attached to the pen. Either way, however, the tissue and the skin are the neuralgic points.
If these layers are damaged by the piercing, there is a risk of bacterial contamination, which often leads to infection. In that case, the new body jewelry becomes a pain, especially if it is a prolonged inflammation. There is, however, the possibility of preventing this - with special products from the Piercingcare area.
Protect skin, tissue and tongue from bacteria
There are specially designed products to protect the meat and the overlying skin from infection by dirt particles or bacteria. Piercing sprays are ideal, when you use them you do not have to touch the sore spot where the piercing took place with your hands. In addition, there are of course special ointments. The application is the same - apply or spray on, let it work for a short time and then the agents unfold their antibacterial effects. Of course, the healing process is also supported and accelerated.
For the oral area, you can use mouthwashes or mouth sprays specially developed for piercings. These agents also have an antibacterial effect and care for the tongue tissue. By the way, articles from the Piercingcare area all do without alcohol, so that no allergic reactions or further inflammation can occur at the pierced areas.
Keep the puncture canal free of bacteria with Piercingcare
But not only the skin or the tissue must be protected from bacteria, the puncture channel created by the piercing must also not be infected. The puncture channel is the cave in which the metal pin sits. If an infection develops here, it can have serious consequences.
By the way, it can't hurt to take care of the skin for a few weeks - or, better, months - before the piercing so that it is healthy and does not react irritated to the pierced holes. Creams are best for this. Just find out what skin type you are and ideally prepare the skin for the piercing.
