SOLIDARITY FRIDAY INSTEAD OF BLACK FRIDAY: KANELA SUPPORTS A FOUNDATION IN UGANDA
The most important things in brief
- On Black Friday there are special offers and bargains all over the world.
- We at Kanela, on the other hand, have decided to support disadvantaged people on this day - this year it's November 25th.
- For this reason, we donate 10 percent of our daily sales to the «Esuubi Foundation» in Uganda.
- This foundation takes care of children, women and the whole village community in the village of Kyabirwa near Lake Victoria
Special offers and price discounts? If you take a closer look, you know that as a customer you can have it all year round if you keep your eyes and ears open - there's no need for a Black Friday. Which is why we at Kanela have decided to make this the 2nd time "Solidarity Friday".
Financial support for the disadvantaged
November 25th is Black Friday. On this day, bargain hunters are on the hunt for special offers. But unfortunately there are too many people worldwide who have to worry about more fundamental things. People who flip every coin twice, weighing whether they can afford to spend at all outside of essential purchases.
This is even truer for many people in Uganda. The state is one of the poorest countries in the world. Gross domestic product and purchasing power are very low. During the Corona crisis, the country was also hit hard. Currently, Uganda is best known for coffee, but experts fear that the global warming associated with climate change could mean that coffee cultivation in Uganda is no longer possible in a few years. This circumstance is likely to result in even more poverty.
Kanela supports a great project in Uganda
We at Kanela show solidarity with disadvantaged people and support the campaign by donating 10 percent of our daily income on Solidarity Friday to the Esuubi Foundation in Uganda!
The foundation is a registered community project in the village of Kyabirwa on the banks of the Nile and focuses on the local children. Most families cannot afford school fees for all their children or the public schools are simply too far away. The Esuubi Foundation helps these families to enable as many family members as possible to go to school. In the past, interest was so great that the originally planned school soon became too small. Thanks to generous donations, the foundation was able to open a new, larger school building in 2021.
A loving home for children
For up to 20 children from 4 to 14 years from the village of Kyabirwa, the Esuubi Foundation has built a loving children's home and boarding school, in which education on the one hand and good nutrition and medical and dental care on the other hand form the basis for a secure, healthy and fulfilling lives.
The Esuubi Foundation is also there for the women of the village community and offers them jobs in tailoring, growing crops or making jewelry. Further training for women is also very important to the foundation. Not least because the Esuubi Foundation is founded and managed by a young African woman.
You too can support Solidarity Friday
Join in too and order your purchases from Kanela on November 25th! Because we forward 10 percent of the total daily turnover directly and without administrative expenses to the Esuubi Foundation. The aid amounts received through Solidarity Friday will of course be used for a specific purpose.
Show your heart and support the foundation and the children in south-eastern Uganda through Kanela so that a nice donation is raised on November 25th. We look forward to every order.
If you would like to support the foundation beyond Solidarity Friday, you can do so via Gofundme do.
