Teas and their various effects
The most important things in brief:
- Tea has been used successfully in naturopathy for decades
- Each tea has its own effect
- Chamomile tea can be helpful for stomach aches
- The selection of the type of tea is important
Tea not only differ in taste, but often also have different effects. Each tea actually has its own task and can often be helpful with everyday complaints such as stomach ache or restlessness. However, it is important that you use the tea correctly.
We would like to share what we consider to be the most important tips on teas and their effects:
Chamomile tea:
The small flower heads of chamomile contain the healing properties. Chamomile tea helps against abdominal pain and nausea, as well as inflammation in the mouth and throat. In addition, chamomile has a calming effect on the nerves and thus helps with stress or inner restlessness. For a peaceful sleep, it is therefore recommended to drink chamomile tea before going to sleep.
Fennel tea:
Fennel has been used in naturopathy for many years. Fennel tea helps with indigestion and flatulence.
Sage tea:
Like fennel tea, sage tea has been used in naturopathy since the Middle Ages. The botanical name "Salvia officinalis", i.e. "official healing", already indicates the corresponding effect. Sage tea helps especially with colds, the resulting problems with the respiratory tract and gingivitis.
Green tea:
The well-known green tea protects your skin from dangerous UV rays, among other things, with its antibacterial effect it also ensures healthy teeth and is said to have a preventive effect against cancer.
Ginger tea:
Ginger tea can be found often and almost on every store shelf, mostly combined with lemon, but it is recommended that ginger tea is freshly prepared with the ginger root. Ginger stimulates digestion and blood circulation. Ginger also has an anti-inflammatory effect (e.g. for sore throats) and helps to relieve colds.
Peppermint:
Peppermint is probably one of the most popular types of tea because of its taste. But in addition to the good taste, peppermint tea is also known for its healing powers for digestive problems. Peppermint has an antispasmodic effect and supports digestion.
Rosehip tea:
Rosehip tea and its healing properties are well known, especially among the older generation. The rosehip contains numerous vitamin C and therefore helps to strengthen the body's defenses and flush the urinary tract and kidneys.
Tea is a natural product and to kill possible germs, boiling water must be poured over the tea. It is therefore also important that when choosing the type of tea, you pay attention to how the tea was made and what raw materials it contains. Also, always make sure that you drink tea in bulk and not by the liter.
