The best tips for losing weight
The most important things in brief
- Anyone who finds out about the topic of losing weight will be overwhelmed by a flood of hints and tips.
- The top priority for a sensitive topic like this should actually be: keep it simple!
- Meaning: It is reasonable to follow a few guidelines that are all the more clear.
- You should stick to these meticulously.
Anyone who feeds the relevant search engines on the Internet with inquiries about weight loss tips often gets scared. Depending on the provider, you can choose from 20, 31 or 42 helpful and definitely essential tips and tricks if you want to shed the pounds. This overwhelming amount of behavioral advice comes as a shock to many people who just want to lose weight.
It doesn't work without rules
The credo can only be: It doesn't work without tips and rules. So these should be extremely brief and target-oriented - and absolutely adhered to if success is to be achieved in the fight against the superfluous kilos.
When it comes to losing weight, the number one rule is very clear: exercise, exercise, exercise. You should be able to exercise at least three times a week. If you can't do that, diet resolutions are obsolete. The good news is, you don't have to train at competitive athlete level to be successful.
Improve metabolism, eat balanced
But what does "successful" even mean in the area of conflict between sport and weight loss? What is meant by this is that you reach a level where you burn a lot of calories and thus boost your metabolism. Ideally, you will also build muscle mass in the medium term - muscles burn more calories than other tissues, even at rest.
Healthy weight loss requires a balanced diet. And that means, rule two, you need meals that have three components: a plant source, a fat source, and a protein source. Ideal vegetables include cauliflower, broccoli, spinach and chard, but also Brussels sprouts, cucumber and celery. The best fats you can get are nuts and seeds or olive or avocado oil. Get protein from eggs, legumes, fish (trout, salmon, shrimp, sardines), or reasonable amounts of chicken, lamb, beef, or pork.
Less sugar, less hunger!
But why are proteins so important, and why are even meat variations allowed? Well, proteins support the metabolism on the one hand, they help the organism to burn more calories. They also ensure a longer-lasting feeling of satiety. Last but not least, you counteract the danger of suffering hunger pangs or having to give in to the urge for a midnight snack.
Third core rule of losing weight: drastically reduce the intake of sugar, the so-called fattening agent. Sugar and the so-called "refined" carbohydrates such as pasta, white flour products, etc. increase the insulin balance. And insulin is the body's most influential fat store. So less sugar and refined carbs means fats are burned instead of stored.
And last but not least, kidney function improves when insulin levels are low. Then the kidneys flush unnecessary sodium and, above all, excess water from the body. In particular, this minimizes water retention in the body, which can quickly lead to pleasant surprises on the scales.
