The best tips for outdoor training
The most important things in brief
- Exercise is always good, indoors or outdoors.
- But if you have the choice between indoor and outdoor training, you should always choose fresh air for various reasons.
- And not because of Corona - in general, sport in the fresh air is better and more varied than in stuffy studios or halls.
- In the following text we give arguments why you should better decide to train outside if the worst comes to the worst.
20 degrees or more out there, glorious sunshine - in this case it is not difficult to get excited about outdoor training when a sports day is coming up. Unfortunately, reality often looks different, it is often cold, rainy, icy, gray in gray or snowy. Still, there are plenty of good reasons to exercise outdoors and avoid indoors, and not just because of Corona.
Go outside at any time of the day or night
It starts with being able to go out and exercise whenever you want. The gym and squash hall close sometime in the evening and are often too crowded at weekends. However, the park on your doorstep, your own garden or the nearby forest are always “open”, so you can train there whenever you want. Just as you get it integrated into the daily schedule.
Now one can argue that there is no sports equipment in the garden or park. But you don't need much for functional training. Skipping ropes, fitness bands or simple coordination ladders are enough to train efficiently and with fun. You can also easily take these devices with you in the car if you are drawn to the mountains or to this beautiful clearing in the forest to do sports.
The UV light also speaks for training in the fresh air
The light of the sun puts you in a good mood, but not only that. The UV rays stimulate our organism because they encourage the body to produce vitamin D. This increases well-being and helps us to get through the gray days better, which unfortunately also exist and usually not too short. And there's some truth to the popular belief that vitamin D is good for your eyesight and eyesight: Vitamin D helps prevent nearsightedness.
More reasons why outdoor training is preferable? Clear! Exercise in the fresh air means that we breathe a lot of oxygen, which boosts our immune system. We become more resistant to germs of all kinds. In addition, the organism releases more endorphins, the so-called happiness hormones. These, in turn, do the duty their name imposes on them and lift our general spirits.
Use underground and natural conditions
The training outside can take place on different surfaces, such as grass, sand, forest floor or gravel. This brings variety and ultimately improves your motor skills, because the musculoskeletal system has to constantly adjust to a new surface. But the topographical features of the area can also be used well, so you can integrate hills, inclines or fallen trees into your training.
If you prefer the park, you can train on park benches, the backrest and seat offer training heights that you can use. A wide variety of exercises can be carried out on it, such as back stretchers, side and push-ups, mountaineering or rowing.
