What to do with children in summer
The most important things in brief
- Most children have a lively imagination and can also occupy themselves for a few hours.
- But most parents know that you need a plan B in the drawer - especially in summer.
- It's nice when you can get the offspring to be enthusiastic about nature.
- A picnic in the garden in the evening or rounds off the day perfectly for the little ones.
A summer day like this is always the brightest joy for children. Of course you can't set up the paddling pool or take the kids to the outdoor pool every day, not least because it's sometimes just too crowded there, at least on weekends or during the holidays. And because the little ones shouldn't have to deal with themselves all day long, it's important to find a solution for them where they have a lot of fun, learn something - and maybe even have a picnic with a larger group in the evening.
Getting outside is important
The first rule, even on hot days, is: the children have to get out into the fresh air. Of course it is comfortable when the little ones play in the perhaps still cool apartment during the day, which gives mum and dad the opportunity to relax with the newspaper or a book on the sofa. Sure, that's necessary sometimes - but firstly, autumn days are better suited for this and secondly, at some point the kids rightly want you to deal with them. With little effort, you can give the children a great day away from overcrowded bathrooms and darkened apartments, and in the evening they are also balanced and heavy in bed.
So get out. Pack enough liquid and snacks and go into your own garden or straight into nature to introduce the offspring to plants and wild animals. It doesn't have to be particularly spectacular, almost all children are interested in bees, grasshoppers and the like! Let them plant and care for their own herbs, pick berries and take them home. You will be amazed at how inquisitive the children are and how well they absorb things that are interesting to them. It is logical that you think of children's sun protection.
A picnic is an adventure for children
Children love to eat outside. So organize a nice picnic in the park or in your own garden, invite a few friends and their children over and give the offspring an unforgettable evening - with comparatively little effort. In the evening the problem with the scorching sun is no more.
Sufficiently chilled drinks such as lemonade (preferably homemade without sugar) always put the children in a great mood, and it goes without saying that the food should be as child-friendly as possible. Without being too greasy, of course; This only puts an unnecessary strain on the organism at high temperatures. And what shouldn't be missing at a picnic outside when children are part of the party? Right, enough games! Here, too, it is true that children do not need as much as one would like to think. A ball, a boccia game with colorful plastic balls or Viking chess is sufficient in most cases.
