Which vitamins help you lose weight?
The most important things in brief
- The topic of losing weight unsettles many people. For most, weight loss becomes a major challenge.
- In addition to having a positive attitude towards losing weight, it helps to do a lot of sport, sleep a lot and drink a lot of water.
- With the right vitamins, for example, you can stimulate fat burning and metabolism.
- Here we show you which vitamins help you lose weight.
A few questions to warm up on the topic of losing weight: sport and exercise? Of course, everyone knows! Getting enough sleep and little to no processed sugar? Pfff, no information that would lure a dog out from behind the stove. Drink lots of water and avoid fast food? so please Healthy eating? Of course, where's the news? But this is where it pays to take a closer look. Namely with the vitamins.
Vitamins are very important when losing weight
Many guidebooks dedicated to the topic of losing weight naturally also deal with which foods promote weight loss and still provide the necessary nutrients. Vitamins, on the other hand, are rarely considered in this context. This is all the more amazing as they can be of great help in weight loss.
The burning of fat and the metabolism are enormously important processes in the organism, especially when you want to lose weight. This is where some of the B vitamins stand out, especially B2 and B6. This is practical - because these are the same vitamins that also help in the body to break down proteins and carbohydrates.
Unsuccessful attempt to lose weight? It could be due to not enough B vitamins
Do you exercise, eat sensibly, avoid fattening foods - and yet the scales show no sign of improvement over a long period of time? Your metabolism may be working too slowly. And that, in turn, could be the result of a lack of vitamin B2 (riboflavin). Put soybeans, mushrooms, hard cheese, whole grain products and broccoli on the menu, lean, white meat and dairy products are also suitable. The chances that losing weight will now lead to better results increase.
Vitamin B6 also boosts the metabolism. It is also contained in broccoli, soybeans and whole grain products, as well as in avocados, sesame, potatoes and salmon. In addition, B6 is very important for building muscle when you exercise. And because muscles burn more calories than other tissues, even at rest, they're an important part of losing weight.
Vitamin C and D also help with weight loss
Your metabolism will improve even more if you consume sufficient amounts of B3 and B5 (niacin and pantothenic acid) at the same time. But in addition to the B vitamins, it is also important to ensure sufficient amounts of vitamin C and D. A high vitamin D level before the weight loss process promises good prospects for a successful slimming cure. You get vitamin D, for example, from beef liver, eggs and fish products (sardines, tuna or salmon).
And vitamin C? Known primarily as a booster for the immune system, vitamin C is also valuable when it comes to losing weight. Fat burning in particular is significantly boosted during sport if the supply of vitamin C is guaranteed. Conversely, the lack of vitamin C is a stumbling block in the fight against the pounds. The ideal way to get vitamin C is to eat lots of fresh fruit – apples, citrus fruits, raspberries, kiwis, blueberries, etc. – and vegetables such as peppers, kale or broccoli.
