The Dermaplast Active Rhizo thumb splint is made of foam and covered with an elastic fabric that guarantees increased wearing comfort. It is reinforced with two pre-shaped, adjustable support rods. The special shape (by means of 3D moulding) provides optimum support for the thumb and wrist. The stretchable outer cover makes it easy to put on with just one hand. The closure system is via Velcro straps.

Indications:

• Ligament injuries of the thumb
• Acute or chronic inflammation of the carpal or metacarpal joint of the thumb (rhizarthrosis)
• Tendonitis and tenosynovitis of the thumb and wrist
• Postoperative imm obilization of the wrist and thumb

Application:

• Measure wrist circumference. If necessary, reshape the support bar on the palm of the hand, then adjust the thumb support bar depending on the indication and desired effect. Preliminarily attach the splint and tighten the Velcro straps. Then carry out a final fixation by tightening the Velcro straps firmly but still comfortably for the patient.
