Prontosan Wound Gel X - hydrogel for cleansing, moisturizing and decontaminating acute, chronic and infected skin wounds and burns (grade 1 to 4), firmer consistency for application to surface wounds. The gel can be applied directly to the wound or placed in wound cavities. Wound dressings can be moistened with the gel before application. The consistency of the gel allows it to be applied to both shallow and deep wounds. For shallow wounds, a 3 - 4 mm thick layer of gel is applied to the wound and closed with a secondary dressing. For application in deep wound cavities or pockets, the encrusted wound coatings are also covered with a layer of gel at least 3 - 5 mm thick Prontosan. The wound is then tamponaded without pressure and closed with a secondary dressing.
