Andermatt Biogarten Hedgehog House Kit, 60x36x30cm (1 pc)

Andermatt Biogarten Buy Hedgehog house kit, 60x36x30cm (1 pc)

The hedgehog is a valuable garden helper, as it eats large quantities of snails and insects during its nightly forays. However, modern gardens are increasingly lacking natural hiding places, making it difficult for hedgehogs to find safe nesting sites or winter quarters. A hedgehog house provides a remedy, as it offers protection as a retreat, as a winter shelter and, during the months of May to September, as a suitable environment for rearing offspring. This kit is manufactured in a social facility in Switzerland and is characterized by its angled entrance, which keeps nest predators away.

The dimensionally stable wooden house has a removable roof, which makes cleaning easier, and can be additionally protected against the weather with a linseed oil coating on the outside. For an ideal location, we recommend a quiet corner of the garden protected from draughts and without direct sunlight. The entrance should face away from the weather. Damp Rasurfaces and hollows are unsuitable as moisture collects there, which can cool the nest down. With a well-chosen location and regular checks, you can make an important contribution to protecting the hedgehog.

Instructions for easy assembly of the hedgehog house are printed on the packaging.
