Andermatt Biogarten insect module for small wild bees (1 pc)

Andermatt Biogarten Insect module for small Wildbees (1 pc) buy

The insect module for small Wildbees is equipped with pieces of wood and reed tubes in various hole sizes from 4-6 mm and thus offers smaller species in particular, such as masked bees, hole bees or small digger wasps, a protected shelter and suitable places to lay their eggs. The module also contains a removable test tube in which the cocoons can be easily viewed to allow obobservation of their development. Wildbees and solitary wasps play a central role in the pollination of numerous flowering plants and therefore make a decisive contribution to the production of many fresh foods. As their natural habitats and food sources are increasingly dwindling, insect modules make a valuable contribution to sustainably promoting these important beneficial insects, even in small areas.

Installation is recommended between May rz and May to ensure that the tubes are reliably colonized. The hexagonal module can be securely attached to any wall using the enclosed screw and metal plate. A dry, sunny and wind-protected location facing south-east, approx. 50 cm above the ground, is ideal. Older tubes can be replaced in winter; sealed tubes should be retained as they are inhabited by Wildbees and produce new bees the following spring. Inhabited tubes can be pr oblemlessly reinserted into the module. The outside of the module is treated with linseed oil, which increases weather resistance and supports a longer service life.
