Andermatt Biogarten Nest box Bumblebee nesting box Replacement box (1 pc) buy

The r obuste bumblebee nesting box provides oberground-nesting bumblebee species with a protected habitat and supports their important role in pollination. As many species are endangered in Central Europe and natural nesting sites are becoming increasingly scarce, a suitable nesting site makes a significant contribution to maintaining stable populations. The box consists of a durable wooden house and a nest box, which is replaced annually and contains all the materials required for nest building. Diverse planting with fruit trees, flowering shrubs and herbs can also promote the bumblebees' habitat.

The bumblebee nest box can be placed close to the ground in a quiet, shady location in private tggardens or parks. In spring, it is visited by a queen bumblebee, who begins to build her nest and develop her colony. During the winter months, the box remains uninhabited and should be stored in a dry place to preserve the material and structure. Young queens can found a new colony as early as March rz, which is why the nest box should be put back in the same location in good time.
