Background on Bach Flower Remedies

The Bach Flower Remedies were developed by the Englishman Edward Bach. He assigned a specific remedy to each of the negative emotional states he identified as being responsible for all forms of suffering and illness. These remedies are intended to promote harmony in one’s emotional state. Traditionally, the numbered essences have English names and are assigned to various areas of application.

Even today, the individual flowers are still collected at the locations in England originally designated by Bach and ritually processed according to the potentization methods he described.

Application

• A glass of water (for short-term use): Add two drops of the selected essences to a glass of water and drink in small sips; repeat as needed.
• Blend (for long-term use): Select up to seven essences. Add two drops of each selected essence to a 30-ml mixing bottle. Fill the bottle with still mineral water and about one teaspoon of fruit vinegar or alcohol (e.g., brandy) for natural preservation. Take four drops of this mixture at least four times a day. Overdosing is not possible. When refrigerated, the mixture generally lasts for three weeks.
