A soothing treat during emotionally stressful situations, such as air travel or challenges at school. Bach flower essences trace their origins to the Englishman Edward Bach. He assigned a specific essence to each of the negative emotional states he identified, which he believed were responsible for all suffering and illness. These essences are intended to promote emotional harmony. Traditionally, the numbered essences have English names and are assigned to various areas of application. The individual flowers are still collected today at the locations in England originally designated by Bach and ritually processed according to the potentiation methods he described.
