Biatain Alginate can be used to treat all moderately to heavily exuding wounds, particularly leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, split-skin graft sites, and traumatic wounds. Biatain Alginate should not be used to treat dry wounds or to control severe bleeding.

Upon contact with wound exudate, Biatain Alginate forms a soft, cohesive gel that maintains an optimal moist wound environment and promotes wound healing. Biatain Alginate is an alginate dressing consisting of 85% calcium alginate and 15% carboxymethylcellulose (CMC).
