The Bort Dorsal Intrinsic Plus Splint (D.I.P.S.) is a wrist splint with finger fixation. It is pre-shaped in the intrinsic plus position and applied dorsally.

Features

• Immobilises the wrist and fixes the fingers
• Pre-shaped in the intrinsic plus position, with 25° wrist extension and 70° flexion at the knuckle joints
• Two elastic hook-and-loop straps on the forearm, non-elastic straps at the base of the hand and the finger segments
• Early mobilisation: making a fist is possible
• Night strap for extending the fingers at the middle and end joints
• Materials according to the instructions for use: PUR foam and polyamide

Notes

Indication according to the manufacturer: pre-operative, post-operative and post-traumatic use for injuries and conditions that require immobilisation of the long fingers and metacarpals, for example metacarpal and proximal phalanx fractures (boxer's fracture) or ligament injuries of the knuckle joints. Contraindications according to the instructions for use include, among others, circulatory and lymphatic drainage disorders, sensory disturbances and skin diseases in the treated area.
