Gel-forming fiber dressing with Hydrolock technology and advanced lock-in properties to contain fluid for moderately to heavily exuding wounds and wound cavities. Unlike conventional gel-forming fibers, Exufiber is a PVA nonwoven dressing. It transforms into a gel on contact with exudate, allowing it to gently conform to the wound bed. Exufiber can be used to treat a wide range of moderately to heavily exuding wounds, including wound cavities. Exufiber dressings with Hydrolock technology are able to efficiently transfer exudate from the wound bed into the secondary dressing. The exudate is contained to prevent leakage and reduce the risk of maceration. Thanks to Hydrolock technology, Exufiber remains intact when wet without requiring additional reinforcement, so it can be easily removed in one piece during dressing changes. Exufiber dressings support a clean wound bed upon dressing removal through their superior lock-in capacity, their ability to remain intact without leaving residues in the wound bed, and by promoting autolytic debridement. Exufiber can be used in combination with Mepilex Border Flex, a unique combination of Flex technology and Safetac.
