Moisturizing agents containing hyaluronic acid—such as those found in Fermavisc® eye drops (Fermavisc® sine and Fermavisc® Gel sine)—provide relief for dry eyes. Hyaluronic acid moisturizes the surface of the eye—that is, the cornea and conjunctiva—in a manner very similar to the body’s own tears and, as a natural substance, is very well tolerated. It forms a clear, long-lasting protective film on the surface of the eye. Hyaluronic acid also supports corneal regeneration.
