One package of IDEAL MAXI Cotton Color No. 07 navy textile dye can dye up to 400 g of fabric in a dark shade and up to 1.2 kg in a light shade, or refresh the color of up to 2 kg of fabric (up to 1/3 of your washing machine’s capacity). It poses no risk to your washing machine.

Usage - Instructions for Use for Textile Dye for Dyeing in the Washing Machine

• It is recommended that you wear gloves and use a clean, limescale-free washing machine. Weigh the dry textiles to be dyed.
• Cut off a corner of each clear container (textile dye and fixative) to create an opening.
• First, place the clear plastic containers in the drum without emptying them.
• Cover them with 500 g of table salt, regardless of the dye dosage or the amount of fabric to be dyed.
• Next, place the fabric loosely in the drum. Set the machine to the longest possible wash cycle at 40°C (without a pre-wash program and without an eco or economy program). Stick to the recommended temperature of 40°C (at 30°C: the result will be very light and the colors won’t hold up in the wash; at 60°C: the result will be too dark).
• At the end of the cycle, remove the empty clear plastic containers. Leave the laundry in the drum and repeat the same wash cycle at 40°C with enough detergent to remove any excess dye.
• Dry the dyed fabric in the shade or in the dryer. The machine is ready for the next load of laundry, but we recommend running a wash cycle with dark clothes after dyeing.
