KALTOSTAT is a calcium-sodium alginate wound dressing with a hemostatic effect and is particularly suitable for treating lightly bleeding and moderately weeping wounds. By absorbing sodium ions from the wound exudate, calcium ions are released from the dressing into the wound and support hemostasis in the wound.

On contact with the wound exudate, the dry alginate fibers in the wound dressing swell and an ideal moist and warm wound environment is created to promote wound healing.
