Fluorosis caused by excessive fluoride intake – almost one in four children is affected

Fluorosis refers to chalky white enamel spots on the permanent front teeth. They are caused by impaired mineralization during tooth development. The cause is excessive fluoride intake during this phase of tooth development. The period from around the second and third years through to the fifth year of life is considered particularly sensitive.

The risk is particularly high in children because their low body weight makes them susceptible to overdoses, and they also frequently swallow toothpaste while

brushing their teeth. Simply swallowing fluoride toothpaste can give young children about as much fluoride as fluoride tablets (usually in

combination with vitamin D) or fluoridated table salt. Since many everyday products are also fortified with fluoride or contain naturally occurring fluoride, it is difficult to determine how much fluoride is actually being consumed.

BioHAP is a fluoride-free alternative. This tooth-like active ingredient provides effective protection for sensitive children's teeth while reducing the risk of developing fluorosis later on.

Modern cavity protection with BioHAP – fluoride-free

  • Gently cleans, remineralizes, and protects against cavities
  • From the first tooth
  • Xylitol also helps fight bacteria and plaque
  • Mild flavor, specially selected for children
  • Also suitable for children who cannot yet spit properly
