Fast-dissolving acid granules for lowering excessively high pH levels in swimming pool and hot tub water.
- Fast-dissolving acid granules for lowering excessively high pH levels in swimming pool water.
- Based on sodium hydrogen sulfate.
- Ideal pH level = 7.2 – 7.4
- Can also be used to clean sand filters.
Swimming pool dosage:
After filling the pool, always first lower the alkalinity to 100 ppm using 32% hydrochloric acid.
During the swimming season, if the pH level rises above 7.4:
- per 0.1 pH unit = 75 g WATCON MINUS per 10'000 litres
- First dissolve the calculated amount of WATCON MINUS in a bucket of water! Then slowly pour it into the water along the edge of the pool while the circulation system is running. Alternatively, simply scatter the granules over the surface of the water while the circulation system is running.
- Measure the pH level again after 12 hours and, if it is still too high, repeat the dosage as described above
- Hard water requires more WATCON MINUS, while soft water requires less
Calculation example based on an alkalinity of 100 ppm:
- Measured pH level = 8.0, target level = 7.2
- Correction by 0.8 pH units = 8 x 75 g = 600 g/10‘000 litres
Hot tub dosage:
If the pH level is above 7.4, lower it to the ideal level of 7.2 using WATCON MINUS:
- Approx. 20 g of WATCON MINUS for 1‘000 litres, scatter directly into the water.
- If necessary, add more until a pH level of 7.2 is reached.
WATCON MINUS for backwashing (= deep cleaning) the sand filter:
- To clean the sand filter of heavily adhering dirt (and thereby reduce chlorine consumption), use WATCON MINUS approximately 3–4 times per swimming season.
- While backwashing the filter, slowly add approx. 500 g of WATCON MINUS to the skimmer (over approx. 2 minutes).
- The acid granules dissolve the firmly adhering dirt, which is flushed out during backwashing.
Notes
- WATCON MINUS tends to harden (hygroscopic). This does NOT result in any loss of quality!
- The crystal blocks can easily be broken up or crushed mechanically.
- The pH level of the swimming pool water should be checked 1–2 times a week and corrected if necessary.
Notes
Notes
- Causes serious eye damage.
- Use chemicals, biocides, and plant protection products with care.
- Always read the label and product information before use.
- Ask the manufacturer/supplier for information about disposal/reuse/recycling.
