Instant-dissolving granules for raising the pH value when it is too low in swimming pool and hot tub water.

• Instant-dissolving alkaline granules for raising a pH value that is too low in swimming pool water.
• Based on sodium carbonate.
• Ideal pH value = 7.2 – 7.4

Swimming pool dosage:

After filling the pool, always first lower the alkalinity to 100 ppm using 32% hydrochloric acid

During the swimming season, if the pH value should fall below 7.0:

• per 0.1 pH unit = 75–100 g WATCON PLUS per 10'000 litres
• First dissolve the calculated amount of WATCON PLUS in a bucket of water! Then slowly pour it into the water along the edge of the pool while the circulation system is running. Alternatively, simply scatter the granules over the water surface while the circulation system is running.
• Measure the pH value again after 12 hours and, if it is still too high, repeat the dosage as described above

Calculation example based on an alkalinity of 100 ppm:

• Measured pH value = 6.8
• Target value = 7.2
• Correction by 0.4 pH units = 4 x 75–100 g = 300–400 g/10‘000 litres

First dissolve the calculated amount of WATCON PLUS in a bucket of water! Then slowly pour it into the water along the edge of the pool while the filter system is running!

Hot tub dosage:

If the pH value is below 7.0, raise it to the ideal value of 7.2 using WATCON PLUS:

• Approx. 15–20 g WATCON PLUS per 1‘000 litres, sprinkle directly into the water.
• If necessary, add more until a pH value of 7.2 is reached.

Possible causes of a pH value that is too low:

• Soft water, e.g. in pools in Ticino.
• Soft water tends to have an acidic pH value.
• The water is more than one year old. The older the water, the more acidic and softer it becomes.
• Adding too much hydrochloric acid (possibly due to an incorrect calculation when adjusting the alkalinity).
• Measuring too soon after adding hydrochloric acid (wait at least 8 days after the last addition of hydrochloric acid before measuring).
• Excessive WATCON-MINUS dosage.
