This high fluid absorption and retention capacity reduces the risk of maceration. Mextra can be used for moderately to heavily exuding wounds, e.g. chronic wounds such as leg ulcers, venous leg ulcers under compression bandages, and chronic wounds such as pressure ulcers. Mextra can be used together with primary dressings such as Mepitel, Mepitel One, fiber dressings, or Melgisorb Plus. Mextra features a water-repellent and breathable top layer that protects against soak-through. The top layer prevents fluid from leaking out and protects clothing and bed linen from contamination.
