NATURKRAFTWERKE Cistus creticus Organic (80 g)

Buy NATURKRAFTWERKE Cistus creticus Organic (80g)

Cistus creticus from NaturKraftWerke comes from organic cultivation in eastern Crete. A group of young organic farmers has been growing the most wonderful aromatic plants and herbs there in the eastern Lassithi region near Sitia for several years. The Cretan rockrose (Cistus creticus, Cistus incanus), also known as the gray-haired rockrose, belongs to the rockrose family. The plant is a natural component of wild Mediterranean maquis landscapes. The shrubs are evergreen with delicate, tissue-paper-like pink-red flowers. The herb has a spicy, floral scent that is slightly sweet and tart, with a hint of resin. NaturKraftWerke Cistus is carefully harvested by hand in the summer and then gently dried in the shade. Primarily the upper parts of the branches are used. The leaves, flowers, and a small portion of the stems are coarsely chopped after drying and packaged.
