Use

A fever thermometer allows you to quickly and reliably determine whether your body temperature is normal, elevated, or even too low. There are various parts of the body where you can measure your body temperature.

Oral measurement – measuring under the tongue

Use the fever thermometer to measure your body temperature in your mouth. The best place to take an oral measurement is under the tongue. Make sure that the thermometer tip remains in contact with the tissue during the measurement. You should also avoid eating or drinking anything hot for ten minutes before the measurement to obtain an accurate result.

Rectal measurement – measuring in the anus

Take the measurement rectally with the fever thermometer. This method provides an accurate and reliable result. It is used particularly for infants and children. During the measurement, insert the fever thermometer up to two centimeters into the anus. To prevent injuries, lubricate the tip of the thermometer, for example with petroleum jelly. As a general rule, you have a fever from 39°C and a high fever from 40°C.

Axillary measurement – measuring under the armpit

The most common method for determining body temperature is measuring it under the armpit. You can also use this fever thermometer for this type of measurement. During the measurement, however, make sure to press your upper arm tightly against your body and remain as still as possible to obtain an accurate result.
