Ortopad eye patches are made of a soft, breathable nonwoven fabric with a special light-blocking insert and a hypoallergenic hot-melt adhesive. They are latex-free and free of preservatives, making them safe for daily use even on sensitive skin. “Hot-melt” refers to temperature-sensitive hot-melt adhesives, while “pressure-sensitive” means the adhesive reacts to pressure. This means that the adhesive on the eye patches is activated by light pressure, and body heat ensures that the patch stays securely in place without tugging or pinching. What’s especially nice for little ones is that the adhesive can be removed completely painlessly and without leaving any residue.
