The ottobock Tübingen Hip Flexion Orthosis (28L10) is a hip flexion and abduction orthosis for the treatment of hip dysplasia in infants. It positions the legs in the so-called squat-sit position, which supports the maturation of the hip joint. The orthosis is prescribed by a physician and fitted and adjusted by qualified professionals.

Application

The hip flexion orthosis is applied according to medical prescription and is normally worn day and night, i.e., around 23 hours (except, for example, during diaper changes and bathing). The healing process is monitored via ultrasound approximately every six weeks; weaning off the orthosis is managed by the physician.
