Mauser Seeds Fine Chives (1g)

Mauser Fine Chive Seeds (1g)

Our chives are a delicate, perennial culinary herb known for their versatile uses and easy cultivation. The perennial plant thrives in sunny to partially shaded locations and is also ideal for growing in pots. The aromatic stems enhance a wide range of dishes and are a valuable addition to any kitchen. Sow from March to June. Germination takes 2-3 weeks at 6-25°C.

Chives should not be cut too close to the ground so that the plant can continue growing vigorously. After each cutting, applying compost or some complete fertilizer is recommended to support growth. For a winter harvest, the plants can be dug up in autumn, dried, and potted to then be forced on a windowsill. With their long lifespan and uncomplicated care, chives are ideal for the garden, balcony, and kitchen.
