Mauser Butternut Pumpkin Seeds (5 g)
The Butternut pumpkin is an early-ripening variety with aromatic fruits weighing 2–4 kg. The dark-red flesh has a delicate, sweet, nutty flavor and is ideal for a wide range of culinary preparations. Its exceptionally long storage life is particularly practical: ripe pumpkins can be stored at approximately 15–18°C for up to one year. Sow directly outdoors from mid-May or start earlier in pots. Sow 2 seeds per pot or planting site at a depth of approximately 3 cm. Germination takes 7–10 days at 15–25°C.
The heat-loving Butternut pumpkin prefers a sunny, warm location outdoors. From mid-May, plant the seedlings 1 × 2 m apart. After germination, leave only the strongest plant per pot or planting site. This variety has high nutrient and water requirements and develops particularly well on compost heaps. Thanks to its long storage life and aromatic flesh, this pumpkin is a versatile addition to the vegetable garden.
