Mauser Carentan Leek Seeds (2.5g)

The "Carentan 2" leek is a proven, short-stemmed winter leek that is particularly well suited to overwintering outdoors. This robust variety tolerates cool temperatures, allowing it to be harvested into spring. With its reliable growth, "Carentan 2" ensures a continuous supply of fresh leeks and is versatile in the kitchen. Sow directly outdoors at a spacing of 15x20cm. Germination takes 10-20 days at 12-18°C.

For vigorous growth, it is recommended to apply some complete fertilizer or compost before planting and again after the plants have established. Growing outdoors allows for easy cultivation and a long harvesting period extending beyond the winter months. Intercropping with carrots or using crop-protection nets can help keep leek moths away. Thanks to its winter hardiness, "Carentan 2" is a reliable variety for year-round leek cultivation.
