Longo leek produces long, white shafts, high yields, and reliable winter hardiness. The robust variety withstands normal winter frosts without damage, allowing for a long harvesting period. Thanks to its vigorous growth and good resistance, this leek is an excellent choice for the home garden and is highly versatile in the kitchen. Sow from March to mid-April in a propagator or indoors; from mid-April, it can also be sown outdoors. Germination takes 2–3 weeks at 12–18°C.

After raising the plants, plant the vigorous seedlings quite deeply outdoors so that the long, white shafts can develop optimally. Maintain a spacing of 15 cm. For healthy growth, incorporate vegetable fertilizer before planting and again after the plants have established. With its high yield and good frost tolerance, Longo provides tasty leeks over an extended period.
