Samen Mauser Thurner White Cabbage (1g)
“Thurner” white cabbage is an old variety bred in Switzerland, with large, firm heads and a particularly mild flavor. The soft, white cabbage is excellent for making sauerkraut, but can also be enjoyed fresh and raw. Thanks to its versatile uses, “Thurner” is ideal for home cooks and lovers of traditional cabbage dishes. Sow from April to early May directly outdoors or in a hotbed. Germination takes 6–10 days at 16–18°C.
After growing on, plant strong young plants deeply, maintaining a spacing of 60x50cm. The variety develops particularly large heads and needs sufficient space for healthy growth. For optimum nutrient supply, incorporate some vegetable fertilizer or compost before planting and after overwintering. With its mild aroma and excellent suitability for sauerkraut production, “Thurner” is a valuable variety for the vegetable garden.
