The first film-forming, silicone-gel-based wound dressing approved for use on open wounds and irritated skin. Creates an optimal environment for the skin’s healing process. It is a transparent, self-drying, non-sticky silicone gel. Prevents abnormal scar formation. Can be used alone or in combination with other scar treatments. Recommended for: superficial wounds, burns, scars, skin cracks, and abrasions.

Directions for use

Stratamed should be applied once daily for at least 60 to 90 days. It can be used on all areas of the skin, including hairy skin and children’s skin. Once the gel has dried, sunscreen or makeup can be applied over it. It is generally applied once daily. The affected area of skin must be clean and dry. Before applying the gel, gently pat away any excess wound fluid. Apply a very thin layer of Strataderm to the skin. The gel should dry within 5–6 minutes. If it is not dry after a few minutes, you may have used too much. In this case, carefully remove the excess gel with a tissue and allow the remaining gel to dry. Stratamed only needs to be applied once daily. If the scar is in an area subject to particular stress (e.g., on the hand, which frequently comes into contact with water), applying Stratamed twice daily is recommended. To achieve optimal results, Stratamed should be able to act on the skin continuously (24 hours). When using a secondary wound dressing, place the dressing over the gel film. Stratamed should be reapplied when changing the dressing or checking the wound.
