The main ingredient in DulcoSoft is macrogol 4000, an osmotic laxative. Macrogol 4000 can bind large amounts of water. It acts as a carrier for fluid (water) and delays its absorption in the intestine, leading to a higher water content in the large intestine. This softens hardened stool in the bowel and increases the stool’s volume. This accelerates bowel transit and facilitates bowel movements, thereby providing a feeling of natural relief.

Macrogol 4000 has a purely physical mechanism of action: It is not absorbed by the body and is excreted unchanged.

Application

• Adults and children 8 years and older: 20–40 ml
• Children ages 4–7: 16–32 ml
• Children ages 2–3: 8–16 ml
• Children aged 6 months to 1 year: 8 ml
