The Willi Fox FOB Test is a visual, immunochromatographic rapid test for the qualitative detection of human hemoglobin in stool samples. Occult—non-visible—blood in the stool may indicate various medical conditions, such as gastrointestinal diseases, including stomach ulcers, polyps, colitis, diverticulitis, hemorrhoids, or colorectal cancer. Early detection of this symptom makes it possible to diagnose and treat these conditions at an early stage. The Willi Fox FOB Test is a new generation of rapid tests for detecting occult blood in stool. This test is a highly specific sandwich immunoassay with many advantages over conventional guaiac tests: higher sensitivity and specificity, no dietary restrictions, and easy interpretation. The one-step rapid test detects human hemoglobin at a concentration of approximately 2 µg per gram of stool, or approximately 40 ng per milliliter of extraction buffer. The FOB Test is intended for use in laboratories and medical practices. The test should be performed only by trained personnel in accordance with the instructions in this test guide.
