Data security

a.) Safety precautions

Kanela AG takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against any unauthorised processing and to ensure the confidentiality, availability and integrity of your personal information. These measures are intended to protect personal information on the systems of Kanela AG in particular against the following risks:

Unauthorised or accidental destruction, accidental loss, technical errors, forgery, theft, unlawful use and unauthorised modification, copying, access or any other unauthorised processing. Kanela AG also ensures the appropriate protection and security of personal information when disclosing your personal information to affiliated companies or service providers at home and abroad.

In particular, Kanela AG uses SSL encryption (Secure Socket Layer) as a standard security measure. If you place an order on our online shop, personal information will be transmitted to us. The SSL procedure protects data sent by a customer to a company’s server via the Internet. SSL guarantees 3-fold protection:

  • The information to be transmitted is encrypted;
  • It ensures that the form is only returned to the server from which it was opened; and
  • It is checked whether the data reaches its respective recipient completely and unchanged.

You can recognize the SSL-protected sections by the lock symbol in your browser. Secure connections are usually recognizable by their address, which begins with “https://”. If you double-click on the lock symbol, you will get more information about the security certificate.

b.) Reference to general risks

Please note that the Internet is generally not a secure environment and that data transmitted via the Internet may be accessible to unauthorised third parties, which may lead to the disclosure of this data, to changes in the information content or to technical malfunctions. Despite extensive technical and organisational security measures, data may be lost or intercepted and/or manipulated by unauthorised persons. It is your responsibility as a user to inform yourself about the necessary safety precautions and to take appropriate measures in this regard. If you send us confidential information, you do so at your own risk. If you consider this appropriate in a specific case, please contact us via a secure data transmission channel instead of via the Internet.

c.) Public contributions

Publicly provided contributions in any discussion forums or guest books operated by us on our websites are accessible to everyone. You should carefully check your contributions before publication to ensure that they do not contain any information that is not intended for the public. You should expect that your contributions will be recorded e.g. in search engines and will be accessible worldwide without a specific call-up of our offer. We cannot guarantee or accept liability for whether and to what extent such entries are stored, used or distributed by third parties.
