Aeroxon Food Moth Traps

Those small butterflies or moths that are important as pests in the household belong to the European borer (Pyralidae). European borer are relatively small and inconspicuous and are mainly active at night or at dusk. The adult moths have a short lifespan of often only a few days and do not take in any food but only water. Damage is caused by the larvae (caterpillars). The development from the egg over several stages of molting to pupation can take several months depending on the ambient temperature.

Since all moth types communicate with each other via species-specific airborne fragrances (pheromones), the use of synthetic moth pheromones makes it possible to attract moths that are ready to mate to adhesive traps in order to identify a possible infection. In general, only males are attracted. Pheromones are released in very small amounts, are harmless and imperceptible to humans.
