Buy Alinea Home Pet Test Parasites & Infections Cat (1 pc)

Do you have the feeling that your four-legged friend is ill?

With the Alinea Home Pet Test you can test your cat quickly, safely and reliably. You will receive the result in 5-10 minutes without having to send it to a laboratory. All you need is a fecal sample obe.

The Alinea test is easy to carry out at home and detects these common pathogens:

  • Coronavirus (FCoV) - can lead to FIP (peritonitis)
  • Parvovirus (FPV) - can lead to feline enteritis
  • The intestinal parasite Giardia lamblia

Coronavirus

The feline coronavirus (FCoV) is a widespread viral infection among cats. After oronasal uptake of the virus into the cat's organism, spontaneous mutations can occur during FCoV replication. These lead to the common disease FIP (infectious peritonitis), which can be fatal without treatment. The disease usually begins with a reduced appetite, fever and reluctance to move. This can be followed by a variety of clinical symptoms, such as enlarged lymph nodes, weight loss, inflammation of the eyes and deterioration of the coat.

Parvovirus

The feline parvovirus and the three variants of the canine parvoviruses can cause feline parvovirosis in cats. The main symptoms of this highly contagious infectious disease are lethargy, diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite and fever. As a result of the symptoms, dehydration, a drop in temperature rz, collapse and, if left untreated, death often occur.

Giardia lamblia

The intestinal parasite Giardia lamblia is - even before worms - the most common cause of diarrhea and vomiting in young animals. The signs of an infection can be acute or chronic diarrhea, and massive Giardia infestation can also cause nausea. The excrement may contain traces of blood and is sometimes pale, watery and slimy and very foul-smelling. The main symptoms are lethargy, diarrhea, vomiting and a change in the coat to shaggy/matt. Infected cats do not necessarily have to show signs of illness, but nevertheless remain a source of infection for other animals and humans. Therefore, and due to the high risk of infection for humans and animals, cats should be tested for this parasite from time to time and treatment measures should be started immediately in the event of a positive result.
