Cyclotest chlamydia rapid test
Cyclotest chlamydia rapid test
Order Cyclotest chlamydia rapid test
What are chlamydia?
Chlamydia trachomatis is the most common venereal disease worldwide. About 2.5-10% of 14 to 24 year old women are already infected. Since this disease is not reportable in Germany, there are only estimates of the number of new infections. The Robert Koch Institute assumed about 300,000 genital chlamydia infections in 2001. Unfortunately, although the disease cannot be underestimated, it is hardly known. The disease can be completely cured by early detection of the infection.
How do you get infected?
Chlamydia is transmitted through sexual intercourse. Women with changing sexual partners are particularly at risk. Heavy smoking, malnutrition and hormonal imbalances due to eating problems increase the risk of becoming infected with the bacteria.
What symptoms are caused by chlamydia?
- painful urination
- abdominal pain
- pain and / or bleeding during or after sexual intercourse
- unusual vaginal discharge
- bleeding between periods
- Similar symptoms to gonorrhea (gonorrhea)
- It is particularly critical that the disease is often asymptomatic. According to the Robert Koch Institute, up to 80% of women do not experience any symptoms when infected.
What can be the consequences of a chlamydial disease?
- In the worst case: infertility
- Fallopian tube or abdominal pregnancy
- The fallopian tubes stick together, which means that natural pregnancy is no longer possible
- Increased risk of contracting the HIV virus
- The pathogens can also affect the eyes, intestines and throat (purulent conjunctivitis, intestinal discharge, sore throat)
Possible consequences in pregnant women:
- blind the baby
- Risk of premature birth or miscarriage
- Inflammation of eyes or lungs in the newborn
What should I do if I am infected?
If the cyclotest chlamydia rapid test shows a positive result, you should immediately consult a doctor. This decides how the Chlamydia infestation is treated.
