The real Kamille (Matricaria chamomilla L.) is a plant species within the Familie of the Compositae (Asteraceae). Originally widespread in southern and eastern Europe, the species is now native to practically all of Europe. Kamille flowers consist of the outer white ray flowers and the inner yellow tubular flowers. The flavor is mainly in the yellow parts of the flowers. The flowers lend a lovely aroma to homemade herbal lemonades with lemon and peppermint or rosehip. When dried, the tubular flowers of Kamilldetach very easily from the base of the flower and settle at the bottom of the packaging. However, this so-called " Kamillengruss" is not inferior and can be used without hesitation.

It is an ancient medicinal plant and can be infused as a tea.

Application / Recipe

As a tea:

For a cup of tea, pour boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons (2-3g), cover and leave to infuse for 10 minutes, then strain.
