EpiGARD is a skin substitute for temporary wound coverage. It cleans the wound and at the same time maintains the moist environment for optimum conditioning of the wound bed for subsequent skin grafts.

The special feature of EpiGARD is the two-layer material, which has been developed in line with the microanatomy of human skin. The thin upper side made of Teflon (polytetrafluoroethylene) is permeable to air, but prevents both the penetration of bacteria and the passage of secretions. The underside forms an open matrix of soft, elastic polyurethane. The side facing the wounds guarantees rapid cleaning and good conditioning of the wound surfaces.
