The Flocare Bengmark Small Bowel Probe is a transnasal probe that is placed directly into the jejunum. The special Bengmark spiral at the end of the probe provides an "anchor effect" and allows safe and reliable placement of the probe. Placing the Bengmark spiral against the intestinal wall allows the risk of the probe "wandering back" into the stomach to be significantly reduced. After reaching the optimal position of the probe in the jejunum, the spiral is independently pulled apart by small intestinal peristalsis. The spiral thus spread firmly attaches itself to the intestinal wall. This so-called "anchor effect" prevents the tube from recoiling into the stomach and thus contributes to the success of the nutrition therapy.

The Flocare Bengmark small bowel tube is made of biostable and well-tolerated polyurethane (PUR). To avoid unintentional misconnections, the small bowel probe has an ENFit connector, which is incompatible with Luer and ENLock connectors.

A radiological or endoscopic position check of the probe should be performed prior to food application. For easy verification, our Flocare® Bengmark small bowel probe has position markings. In addition, it has full-length radiographic contrast, which facilitates radiographic control and increases safety. To ensure a constant delivery rate of the tube feed, the feed must only be administered with a feeding pump.
