Mode of action:

Puregon solution for injection contains follitropin beta, a hormone known as follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). FSH belongs to the group of gonadotropins, which play an important role in human fertility and reproduction. In women, FSH is required for the growth and development of follicles in the ovaries. Follicles are small round vesicles that contain the egg cells. In men, FSH is necessary for sperm production. Further information can be found in the instructions for use.

Application:

Puregon injection solution in cartridges was developed for use in the Puregon Pen. The separate instructions for handling the pen must be followed carefully. Only clear, particle-free solution may be used. When using the pen, the injection under the skin (e.g. in the lower abdominal area) can be carried out by yourself or your partner. Your A rzt will tell you when and how to do this. If you administer the Puregon injections yourself, follow the handling instructions carefully in order to administer Puregon correctly and with the least possible discomfort. The first injection of Puregon may only be given in the presence of an A rzt or nurse.
