Atrauman Silicone is a wound contact layer consisting of a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) mesh as a carrier material, coated with silicone gel (based on polydimethylsiloxane) on both sides. This wound contact layer is used for atraumatic wound treatment and is thin, soft, cuttable and drapable. It protects organs and other sensitive structures during negative pressure wound therapy. Its open mesh structure makes it permeable to exudate. It adheres gently and securely to dry surfaces, but not to moist surfaces. Thus, it counteracts sticking to the wound.
