Biatain Alginate can be used for the treatment of all moderately to heavily exuding wounds, particularly leg ulcers, decubitus ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, split skin removal sites and traumatic wounds. Biatain Alginate should not be used to treat dry wounds or to stop severe bleeding.

Upon contact with wound exudate, Biatain Alginate forms a soft, cohesive gel that provides an optimal moist wound environment and promotes wound healing. Biatain Alginate is an alginate dressing made from 85% calcium alginate and 15% carboxylmethylcellulose (CMC).
