If the enzyme lactase is not sufficiently available in the body (lactase deficiency), the milk sugar reaches the lower intestinal tract ( Dickintestine) in an undigested form and is fermented there by intestinal bacteria with gas formation. This can lead to complaints such as abdominal pain, flatulence, bloating or diarrhea after consuming dairy products and is then referred to as lactose intolerance (milk sugar intolerance) or lactose intolerance (milk sugar intolerance). The lactase enzyme contained in Lactrase breaks down lactose into the nutrients glucose and galactose. Lactrase therefore usually enables the symptom-free consumption of milk and milk products. This also ensures that the body is supplied with the essential nutrients, minerals and vitamins contained in milk. These include in particular protein, calcium, vitamin A and vitamin D.

Application

You should individually test which amount Lactrase is sufficient for you. We recommend starting with 1-2 capsules Lactrase per 5 g lactose (see table on page 11). The capsules should be taken immediately before or with food or drink containing lactose. Alternatively, the capsules may be opened and the contents mixed directly with foods or beverages containing lactose. However, do not add to hot foods, as the enzymes are sensitive to heat.
